Just grit my teeth (and smile when possible)

“It’s an endless combat. Each morning one must put one’s capacities to the test.”
— Christine Lagarde

This screenshot is from 16:10-16:12 of YouTube video of Tokyo 1964 Olympic Marathon, when sports gear or drinks were not as scientific as they are today; when there were even runners ran bare feet.

This runner in the picture finished the race, and he was one of the best, even though not the one of the medalists.

To see a world in a grain of sand |

Professor ShouCheng Zhang “passed away”.  He is forever with us, seeing a world in a grain of sand, holding infinity in hand.

We won’t quote any physics or mathematics from the video, except the title of the lecture, originally from William Blake, and dedicate them to Professor Zhang:

To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour.

Do more for real intelligence |

The word AI (artificial intelligence) is everywhere these days. Some of the best young minds are pouring into the field, and industry need is so dire that graduate schools can hardly keep PhD students until graduation.

In the craze of the artificial, real intelligence seems to have been forgotten. Here, the word “real intelligence” means intelligence from real human being.
American k-12 education continues to go downhill regardless of funding, more and more homeless people in New York City are begging in the streets (many are young and able), and millions of prime age citizens are not looking for work where many jobs are left unfilled.

Strong people 强者

We are all going to die one day. What kind of life we will/have had depends on how strong we are/have been while alive.

Challenges make people strong.  More precisely, overcoming challenges. Strength make a person

Non-school hour school

If I could, I would open a school for children, like the way Elon Musk has a school for his children, Ad Astra (Latin: to the stars).

Climbing like a Koala 爬树

I am a koala

I love climbing on trees.  I will tell you one thing and that is: if you are determined to climb a tree like me and you are afraid… then please remember if I can do it then you can do it too.
